Pedorthist Calgary
If your knee gives out on a walk through Fish Creek Park, or your feet ache every morning before you even leave the house — you are not alone. Foot and knee pain has a way of quietly taking over the things you enjoy. Whether you are an athlete, a shift worker on your feet all day, or someone managing a long-term knee condition, a certified pedorthist can help you find a solution that fits your life.
At Pro Motion Calgary, Jared Langille, our Canadian Certified Pedorthist (C.Ped(C)), provides pedorthic assessments, custom foot orthotics, custom-fitted knee braces, and compression wear — all under one roof in South Calgary.
What Is a Pedorthist?
A pedorthist is a trained healthcare professional who specializes in the assessment, design, fitting, and modification of devices that support the foot, ankle, and lower limbs. That includes custom foot orthotics, knee braces, and compression garments.
Pedorthists look beyond just the foot. They assess how your whole lower body moves — your gait, your alignment, and how forces travel up through your ankles, knees, and hips. When something is off at the foot level, it can cause a chain reaction of pain all the way up to your lower back. A proper pedorthic assessment gets to the root of that problem.
In Canada, certified pedorthists hold the designation C.Ped(C) and are regulated through the College of Pedorthics of Canada.
Meet Jared Langille, C.Ped(C)
Jared is always looking to advance his knowledge to benefit patient outcomes, and he takes time to manufacture and modify orthotics and footwear directly — meaning your devices get hands-on attention at every stage of the process.
Our Pedorthist Services in Calgary
Custom Foot Orthotics
Custom foot orthotics are prescription insoles built specifically for the shape of your foot, your activity level, and your condition. They are not the generic insoles found at a drugstore — these are devices designed around your individual biomechanics.
Jared uses 3D scanning technology to capture the shape of your foot and manufactures and modifies orthotics directly. Your assessment includes a full evaluation of your gait and lower limb function so the right solution can be matched to your needs.
Custom foot orthotics may help with:
- Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
- Flat feet or high arches
- Overpronation or supination
- Bunions and toe deformities
- Shin splints
- Knee, hip, and lower back pain linked to foot mechanics
- Diabetic foot care
- Sports injuries and overuse conditions
Custom Knee Bracing
Jared fits a full range of custom knee braces for ligament injuries, osteoarthritis, and patella tracking issues. These are custom-measured and professionally fitted devices — not off-the-shelf sleeves.
Ligament Knee Braces
If you have experienced an ACL, MCL, PCL, or LCL injury — from sport, a fall, or an accident — a custom ligament brace provides external stability to the knee during healing and return to activity.
Available ligament brace options include:
- Thuasne Rebel Ligament Knee Brace — Custom made
- Osskin Provoke Ligament Knee Brace — Custom made
- Ossur CTI Ligament Knee Brace — Custom made
Unloading Knee Braces
Unloading (also called offloading) braces are designed for people with knee osteoarthritis. When cartilage wears down — most commonly on the inside of the knee — daily movement becomes painful. An unloading brace applies a corrective force to shift weight away from the affected area, reducing pain and supporting mobility.
Available unloading brace options include:
- Osskin Evoke Unloading Knee Brace
- Thuasne Rebel Reliever Unloading Knee Brace
- Ossur Rebound Dual Unloading Knee Brace
- Ossur Unloader One Unloading Knee Brace
- Thuasne Action Reliever Unloading Knee Brace
Knee Compression & Stabilization Braces
For patella tracking issues, mild instability, or general knee support during activity, Jared also fits:
- Ossur Formfit Tracker Patella Stabilizer Knee Brace
- Medi E+motion Genumedi Compression Knee Brace
- Medi Genumedi Pro Hinged Knee Brace
Compression Therapy
Medical-grade compression garments are used for circulation concerns, varicose veins, lymphedema, leg swelling, long hours on your feet, and lower limb recovery. Fit and compression level both matter — the wrong garment can be ineffective or uncomfortable. Jared fits compression wear from the Medi brand across a range of compression levels and styles to match your specific situation.

Who Can Benefit from Seeing a Pedorthist?
You do not need to be recovering from a serious injury to benefit from pedorthic care. People visit Jared for a wide range of reasons, including:
- Chronic foot or heel pain that has not resolved on its own
- A knee injury from sport, work, or an accident
- Post-surgical knee recovery or pre-surgical support
- Osteoarthritis affecting the knee or lower limb
- Jobs that require standing or walking for long periods
- Leg swelling or circulation concerns
- Ongoing discomfort from ill-fitting footwear
- Lower limb injury prevention for active individuals
What to Expect at Your Pedorthic Appointment
Step 1 — Assessment
Your first visit begins with a thorough conversation about your history, pain, lifestyle, and goals. Jared will assess your posture, alignment, and gait and examine the affected area in detail. There is no rushing — the assessment exists so that whatever device or approach is recommended actually fits your situation.
Step 2 — Scanning or Measurement
For custom foot orthotics, a 3D scan captures the precise shape of your foot. For knee braces, Jared takes detailed measurements to ensure a proper custom fit from the start.
Step 3 — Device Fitting or Order
Some devices are available at the clinic. Custom orthotics and braces are manufactured to your specifications and fitted at a follow-up appointment, where Jared makes any adjustments needed for comfort and function.
Step 4 — Follow-Up Care
Your care does not stop at the fitting. Jared books follow-up visits to review how your device is performing and make any modifications as your body adapts. Orthotics and braces are adjusted over time — that follow-up is part of the process, not an extra.
Why Choose Pro Motion Calgary for Pedorthic Services?
A Certified Pedorthist Who Also Manufactures
Jared does not just fit pre-made devices. He manufactures and modifies orthotics and footwear directly, meaning adjustments are handled with clinical precision and a genuine understanding of how the device was built.
Part of a Full Multidisciplinary Team
Pro Motion is a multidisciplinary health clinic. If your knee issue also needs physiotherapy, or your foot pain connects to a broader movement problem, you do not need to book at a different clinic and start the conversation over again. Jared works alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, acupuncturists, osteopaths, and other practitioners in the same building. Your care stays coordinated.
A Background in Bracing Before Pedorthics
Before becoming a certified pedorthist, Jared worked as a kinesiologist and brace fitter. That practical, hands-on experience — combined with his Kinesiology degree and formal pedorthic training at Western University — means knee brace fittings are approached with both the clinical knowledge and the real-world fitting experience that makes a difference.
Extended Hours to Fit Your Schedule
The clinic is open Monday through Thursday until 8:00 PM, Fridays until 6:00 PM, and Saturdays until 3:15 PM — making it easier to get seen without disrupting your schedule.
