Lydia Carter
Physiotherapist / Pelvic Health
Lydia hails from Calgary, AB. From a young age, and likely due to participating in a wide variety of sports and activities, Lydia has been captivated by the intricacies of the human mind and body. This interest paired with her desire to help people lead her to a career in Physical Therapy. She completed her kinesiology degree at the University of Western Ontario and furthered her education with a Master of Physical Therapy from the same esteemed institution.
Lydia's mantra, "motion is lotion," underscores her approach to care, emphasizing the transformative power of movement in rehabilitation. With a deep-rooted belief in the biopsychosocial model, Lydia takes the time to understand each client's unique story. So, whether your goal is rehabbing an injury or improving athletic performance, she will craft a personalized plan that aligns with your goals and lifestyle. Her comprehensive treatments encompass education, exercise, dry needling, shockwave therapy, soft tissue techniques, and joint mobilizations, ensuring holistic care for every individual.
In addition to her general expertise, Lydia is a certified pelvic floor Physiotherapist, specializing in assisting both men and women dealing with pelvic pain or incontinence. With over four years of experience in this field, she is passionate about helping her clients overcome pelvic dysfunction, empowering them to return to their favorite activities and sports with confidence and comfort.
In her spare time, Lydia finds joy by indulging in one of her many hobbies. You may find her adventuring with her dogs and partner, playing in the snow, cycling along the river, puttering in her garden, or whipping up delicious treats in the kitchen.

“My daughter and I have both been seeing Lydia, she is kind, knowledgeable and makes you feel at ease.”
"As for physiotherapy, Lydia is phenomenal. She is both compassionate and assertive, and I'm confident whether you need a partner to collaborate with or a firmer kick in the butt to get going, Lydia will accommodate in a non-judgmental fashion. She utilizes the latest physio techniques, has the latest knowledge, is constantly discussing updates and work she is doing and has done. I could go on and on with positive things to say. People don't often understand how important it is to have a safe relationship with a therapeutic practitioner. So many can be dismissive or short-sighted. Lydia is the exact opposite: highly competent at her job, so skilled, hungry to learn, and just a great person to work with.”
