Merle Morton is a caring, experienced, and innovative physiotherapist. The mission of her practice is to help people live healthier and fuller lives without pain and mobility issues.
Merle believes in and understands the interconnectedness of the body. She looks at and treats the whole person.
Merle has successfully treated thousands of people over the years with her leading-edge techniques and approaches to healing. Today, many people come to her after tests have not identified the issue or other practitioners have not been able to help. She has been able to give people hope that things can and will improve when no one else has been able to.
Merle Morton brings a wealth of education and experience to her practice. Graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science of Physical Therapy, she has been a staff physiotherapist practicing traditional physiotherapy in numerous clinics and hospitals across Canada.
Merle has been a pioneer and forerunner in women’s health physiotherapy for over 27 years. She has developed a unique and successful physiotherapy program for those suffering from complex pelvic floor issues. She sat on the Women’s Health Executive of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association for 8 years and assisted in the development of the Women’s Health portion for the World Physiotherapy Congress in Vancouver in 2007.
Additionally, Merle was one of the original developers of women’s health physiotherapy in Calgary. Working alongside a leading urogynecologist, she developed training programs to further educate doctors and other medical professionals on the need for and benefits of pelvic health physiotherapy. She continues to train other physiotherapists, midwives, and doulas.
Merle has honed her craft by engaging in advanced training in Canada as well as internationally. She has attended countless continuing education workshops, courses, and conferences which have allowed her to develop an in-depth understanding of the human body.
