Naturopathic Injection Therapy

Naturopathic Injection Therapy is a targeted, effective treatment used in naturopathic medicine to support healing, alleviate pain, and correct nutrient

What is Naturopathic Injection Therapy (NIT)?

Naturopathic Injection Therapy is a targeted, effective treatment used in naturopathic medicine to support healing, alleviate pain, and correct nutrient deficiencies through direct delivery of natural substances into the body. It offers a powerful, minimally invasive approach to health that bypasses the digestive system for faster and more efficient absorption.

How Does Injection Therapy Work?

1. Personalized Assessment: Every treatment begins with a thorough consultation. Our naturopathic doctor takes the time to understand your health history , current symptoms , and personal wellness goals . When necessary, lab tests are used to assess nutrient levels, inflammation, and other key health markers.

2. Customized Treatment Plan: Based on your unique needs, a tailored injection protocol is developed. We use only high-quality natural substances, including:

  • Vitamins & Minerals: Such as B12, B-complex, magnesium, and vitamin D
  • Homeopathic Remedies: For inflammation, immune support, and nervous system balance
  • Natural Pain Relievers: Including procaine or botanical extracts for joint and muscle relief

What is the Difference Between Injection Therapy + IV Therapy?

Naturopathic Injection Therapy (NIT) and Intravenous (IV) Therapy are both integrative treatments used in naturopathic medicine to deliver nutrients, medications, or other substances directly into the body. However, they differ in their methods, applications, and benefits.

  • IV Therapy may be more appropriate for chronic illness or widespread systemic issues.
  • NIT is often preferred for pain management, localized problems, or when venous access is difficult.

If you prefer a different approach, Dr. Sarah Louie, N.D, also offers nebulised (refers to the process of turning a liquid medication into a fine mist for inhalation.) treatments for some of the formulas!

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your first visit starts with a consultation rather than an injection. Dr. Sarah Louie, N.D. reviews your health history, current medications and supplements, allergies, and your goals, then explains whether injection therapy fits your situation and what a reasonable plan looks like. If you go ahead, the injection itself is quick — a small volume is delivered just under the skin, into a muscle, or near the area of concern depending on the protocol. Most people feel a brief pinch and mild pressure. Appointments are typically short, and you can usually return to your normal day right afterward. Your naturopathic doctor will let you know how many visits are commonly involved and check in on how you are responding at each one.

Who May Consider Naturopathic Injection Therapy

People often ask about injection therapy when they are looking for an adjunct to the rest of their care — for example, support for localized muscle and joint discomfort, or targeted delivery of nutrients such as B12 when oral intake is not enough. It is an option some patients prefer over IV therapy when the concern is localized rather than systemic, or when a quick, focused treatment is more practical. It is not a fit for everyone, and it is not a substitute for diagnosis and care from your family physician or specialist. The point of the initial assessment is to decide, together, whether it is appropriate for you.

Safety and What to Discuss First

Naturopathic injection therapy at Pro Motion is provided by a licensed naturopathic doctor who is trained in injection technique. Before any treatment, be sure to mention if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take blood thinners, have a bleeding or clotting disorder, have allergies, or are managing a chronic health condition — these all affect whether injections are suitable and which substances are used. We use the consultation to flag anything that needs your physician's input first, and we are happy to coordinate with the rest of your care team. Naturopathic injection therapy is intended to complement conventional medical care, not replace it.
