Kinesiology and active rehab in South Calgary. Work with a kinesiologist at Pro Motion Calgary to recover from injury, rebuild strength, and move with confidence.

Kinesiology is the study of how the body moves. A kinesiologist looks at the way your muscles, joints, and nervous system work together, then uses exercise and movement to help you get back to what you were doing before pain or injury got in the way.
At Pro Motion Calgary, kinesiology is the active side of rehab. It is the part where you rebuild strength, retrain a movement, and put in the reps that make a recovery hold. Your kinesiologist watches how you move, works out what is actually driving your symptoms, and builds a plan around your goals and your schedule, not a generic worksheet.
Movement is one of the most reliable tools we have for feeling better. The trick is doing the right movement, in the right dose, at the right time. That is the part people tend to get wrong on their own, and it is exactly what a kinesiologist is trained to get right.
There is a real difference between a workout you find online and a rehab program built for your body. A generic plan does not know that your left shoulder gives out overhead, or that your knee only complains going down stairs, or that you sit at a desk for nine hours a day. Your kinesiologist does, because they assessed it.
That assessment is what makes the exercises work. Instead of pushing through pain or guessing at what might help, you get a graded plan that starts where you actually are and moves forward as your body is ready. You also get someone watching your form, catching the small compensations that slow recovery down, and adjusting the plan when something is not clicking.

People book kinesiology with us when they want a guided, structured way to get moving again. That covers:
Because we work as a multidisciplinary clinic, kinesiology rarely happens on its own. Plenty of clients see a physiotherapist or chiropractor for the hands-on assessment, then work with a kinesiologist to do the exercise side that makes those gains stick. Everyone shares notes, so you are not repeating your story five times or getting conflicting advice.

Your first visit starts with a conversation. Your kinesiologist wants to know what happened, what you are trying to get back to, and what has and has not worked so far. Then comes a movement assessment: range of motion, strength, and the specific movements that give you trouble.
After that, you get to work. Sessions are active, so you will learn exercises and practise them with coaching on your form. As you get stronger, the plan gets harder. You leave with a home program and a clear idea of what to do between visits, because that is where most of the progress actually happens.
Expect some teaching along the way. Understanding why an exercise matters, and how to tell a good kind of hard from a bad kind of sore, makes it far easier to stay consistent once you are on your own.
Everyone comes in for a different reason, so the plan looks different too. A few of the most common ones:
If you are recovering from a workplace injury or a car accident, active rehab is usually a core part of getting back to full function. Kinesiology fits neatly into that process. We can coordinate with your WCB claim or your motor vehicle accident care so your exercise program lines up with the rest of your treatment and your paperwork. Bring any relevant documents to your first visit and our front desk will help you sort out the details.
Kinesiology and athletic therapy overlap a lot, and we offer both. If your goal is getting back to a sport, a physical job, or a specific activity, athletic therapy follows a return-to-activity approach that takes you all the way back to the thing you want to do, not just to pain-free at rest.
Your care is in good hands. Haley Pupp holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge and completed her Athletic Therapy training at Mount Royal University. She has also coached at F45 Shawnessy since 2023, so she is used to meeting people wherever they are, from first steps after an injury to getting back to a full training load. Her approach is personalized and evidence-based, with a focus on helping you move better and build confidence through movement.

A physiotherapist is a regulated health professional who assesses and treats injuries, often with hands-on techniques. A kinesiologist focuses on exercise and movement, and is usually the person guiding your active rehab and strength work. Many people see both, and at our clinic they work as a team.
No. You can book kinesiology directly with us. If you are recovering from a WCB or motor vehicle accident claim, bring any related paperwork so we can coordinate your care.
It depends on your plan. Some extended health benefits include kinesiology, and active rehab is often covered under WCB and motor vehicle accident claims. Check your coverage, and our front desk can walk you through your options and direct billing.
It depends on your goal and where you are starting from. Some people need a few visits to learn a program and then run with it on their own, while others prefer regular check-ins to keep progressing. Your kinesiologist will give you a realistic idea after the first assessment.
Comfortable clothes you can move in and supportive shoes. You will be doing some light exercise, so dress the way you would for an easy workout.
Yes. A big part of the job is meeting you where you are and building up gradually. There is no fitness level you need to reach before starting, and the whole point is a plan that fits your current ability.
