Registered Provisional Psychologist

Pam Nemeth, practitioner at Pro Motion Calgary

Life rarely unfolds in a straight line. Along the way, there may be periods of anxiety, depression, stress, burnout or compassion fatigue, grief, relationship or family concerns, workplace challenges, or uncertainty about a career or life transition. You may be coping with injury or chronic pain, adjusting to circumstances you did not anticipate, or simply looking for a different perspective.

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and an Advanced Certificate in Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace. With more than 25 years of experience supporting people through personal, professional, and life transitions, I bring a broad and practical understanding of human behaviour, relationships, work, and the many factors that contribute to well-being and resilience.

I work with adults, parents, youth, seniors, professionals, athletes, and people from all walks of life. My approach is warm, thoughtful, collaborative, and practical, and I tailor our work to your individual experiences, needs, and goals.

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Sometimes you need space to talk and be heard. Sometimes you are looking for perspective or a deeper understanding of what is happening. And sometimes you want practical tools or support in deciding what comes next.

I won't just ask, “What do you think?” If you want to explore something, I will listen. If you want perspective, I will offer it. And if you want help finding a way forward, we can work on that together.

My goal is to help you feel understood, develop greater clarity, and find a path forward that feels meaningful and right for you.

Career Counselling

I also provide career counselling for people at different stages of education and work, from high school students thinking about their future to adults considering a career change or new direction. Together, we explore interests, strengths, motivations, preferences, and goals to identify options that fit. When helpful, I incorporate targeted assessments to add insight into personality, working style, motivations, and personal preferences.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

I am also an Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) therapist. ART is a brief, structured psychotherapy that incorporates eye-movement techniques to work with distressing memories and symptoms. It may be considered as part of support for anxiety, depression, trauma, post-traumatic stress, grief and loss, pain management, relationship and family concerns, and work-related stress. Suitability and treatment needs are considered individually, and outcomes vary.

Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering with animal welfare organizations and have a particular appreciation for the human-animal connection, and the role pets can play in healthy living and aging. During the warmer months, I enjoy adding color to my gardens!
